Another quick update, this time just dealing with Sanctuary.

I can’t seem to find rating for The Five or Edward on SciFi Wire, which is where I picked these up.

GALLERY: I added a couple new Sanctuary promos, some behind-the-scenes green screen pictures and a bunch of episode stills. The episode stills go all the way through Requiem, so they contain spoilers. There’s even one for the season finale. Please don’t look if you don’t want to be spoiled.

MERCHANDISE: Sanctuary For All has brought back their merchandise store. So far it features a hoodie, t-shirt and hat, that I think were the original things sold when the webisodes were out. I didn’t buy anything during that time so I’m not completely sure if it’s the same stuff.

GALLERY: I added various new photos to the gallery over the past couple of days. You can see them by using the last uploaded function at the gallery. The only new album I’ve added is for the 2003 San Diego Comic Con.

SANCTUARY: Sanctuary has been picked up for a second season! Sci Fi has given it 13 episodes. Still no word on when the season one box set will be available for pre-order in the US. And check out Sanctuaryforall.com if you get the chance, the current note is from Amanda.

PRESS: I added the second part of Amanda’s Pop Culture Zoo interview to the press archive.

So when I got asked “Would you do this part, it’s not a huge part, but it’s in an Anne Wheeler’s movie?” I was like “Whatever! I’ll do it, I don’t care!” Then they sent me the script after I said yes, I loved the script and got to work with some really cool actors. Anne Wheeler was the reason I took that role and I’d work with her again in a heartbeat.

SITE: I know I haven’t been very good with the updates lately but I’m working on being more diligent. It’s not that I don’t have anything to update with cause I’ve got loads of things, it’s just that I don’t usually get around to updating when I get online.

SITE: I’ve changed the alerts feature on the sidebar to tabs instead of a list.  I’ve separated everything by type (ie con appearances, tv shows, etc) so all you have to do is click the different tabs to see when Amanda will be on tv or the next convention she’ll be at.  And speaking of conventions…

CONVENTIONS: Amanda will be doing 7 conventions in 2009.  All of them have been added under the ‘CONS’ tab on the sidebar.  I would have added them sooner but the sidebar was getting crowded and I needed to find another way of displaying all of the information.

SANCTUARY:  Sanctuary Season 1 Box Set is now available for pre-order in the UK.  It’s not available for the US yet, but I’m sure it will be soon.

GALLERY: I’ve added 8 more pictures from the Continuum Screening to the gallery as well as 16 pictures from the Sanctuary event at The Paley Center. There’s also 3 more Atlantis Stills (season 5) in the gallery. Please remember those contain spoilers. PRESS: Pop Culture Zoo did a two part interview with Amanda and I’ve added the first part to the press archive here. Part two will be released by Pop Culture on Friday.

To me, shooting on the green screen feels a lot more like doing theater than anything else. Often times in theater you don’t have the full set, you don’t have the fourth wall with the audience there and the green screen feels a lot like that.

GALLERY: I added all the screencaps I was working on while trying to fix my computer. Unfortunately my normal internet connection is still not working but I improvised to add these to the site. I’ve capped everything I have with Amanda in it, except Stargate and Stuck (which I probably won’t cap because Amanda didn’t even know it was being sold). The following screencaps have been added:

Breakdown  +  The X-Files  +  Goosebumps  +  Earthsea  +  Sanctuary Webisodes (all)

I capped all of Breakdown and the Sanctuary webisodes but only Amanda’s part in the other three shows.

SITE: Enough though my internet connection is iffy, I’ll try to update at least once a week until it’s fixed. It’ll probably just be small updates but when everything is fixed, I’ll make sure the site is all up-to-date.

SITE:  I’m sure someone is wondering about the lack of updates.  I’m sorry about that but my computer is having issues.  The computer I use for all my fansite stuff, won’t connect to the internet.  I have no way to add anything until it gets fixed.  I’ve been working on stuff for when my computer is up and running again so there will be lots of pictures/screencaps/videos to be added. Hopefully it’ll be fixed by next weekend.

PRESS;: I’ve added 4 more articles to the press archive. One is from 2007 and the other three are recent articles/interviews.

Tapping will also reprise the role of Carter in an upcoming straight-do-DVD Atlantis movie, she said.

“I know nothing about it,” Tapping said. “I can honestly tell you that. I was asked if I could make myself available, and I said, ‘Of course I would.’ Stargate is home. I may be off at university right now getting my Ph.D. in craziness, but I will always go home for Thanksgiving dinner at Stargate.”

SANCTUARY: The premiere on SciFi was the #1 primetime cable entertainment program among Adults 25-54. It pulled in more than 2.7 million total viewers making it the highest rated original series premiere since Eureka made Channel history in July 2006

MEDIA: I’ve added a video of Amanda from TV Guide to the media section

PRESS: There are 7 new articles in the press archive

“Ideally there are times when we don’t want people to know. In fact, we have this huge opening shot (in the first episode) which is almost entirely a visual effect until the very end, and you’re not sure where the visual effect ends and the real scene begins. That seamlessness is stunning to me.

“But people will know. They’ll know by watching it that what they’re seeing isn’t always real. But we’re really proud of that, because the visual effects are so cool looking.”

PRESS: I’ve added 5 new articles to the press archive. Some are super recent but other were conducted a while ago. All are from this year, however.

I cannot say enough about sci-fi fans. I have never met a more stalwart, focused, supportive group of fans in any genre. Part of it is the social networking. They’re really an active group. Stargate lasted 10 years and I attribute it to the fans and to the fact that they stuck by us. I don’t do a lot of conventions, but I do smaller ones, and it’s a great way to say thank you to them. They really are an incredible group. It makes taking a big leap of faith — like leaving the Stargate franchise to jump on to Sanctuary — easier by knowing there is this groundswell of fans to support it.

I’ll be adding more tomorrow. I’ll see if I can get some of the video interviews up.
